Advanced Sprint Training Program


This program is designed for more experienced youth paddlers who wish to compete at the provincial and national level. The primary focus of this program will be both on physiological and technical development. Sport specific skills, speed endurance and strength will be some of the primary target areas of the program and will include intensive work with the Head Coach. Athletes will develop short and long term goals under an intense training program designed for the athletes.

Participants will be given the opportunity to compete at divisional, provincial and national regattas.

Club equipment is supplied. On-water coaching and planned workouts take place seven times per week in May, June, September, October and ten times per week in July and August.

The program is coached by the Head Coach.

Program runs:                        April 29th – October 28th 2019

Program practice schedule:   (May & June) morning practices - Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-7:30 a.m.

Evening practices - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4:30-6:00 p.m. & Saturday 7:00-9:00 a.m.

(July & August) morning practices increase to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00-9:00 a.m., afternoon practices & Saturday practices remain the same.

(September & October) practices revert to the spring schedule.

Please note: Practices are subject to change based on the weather and/or Coach availability. There are no practices during long weekends.

Program Requirements:

Must be able to swim and tread water and all athletes are required to wear a PFD when on the water.

Cost:    $ 950.00

Program withdrawal - 10% of the program fees will be retained. Fees are non–refundable after one month.



There is an expectation of up to 10 volunteering hours per family.
