Regatta Ready Summer Camp is designed to introduce youth aged 10-15 to the sport of Olympic style paddling in sprint canoeing and kayaking. The goal of our Sprint Canoe Kayak summer camp program is to get your kids playing outside, learning about water safety essentials, and developing skills and confidence in flat water canoeing and kayaking. This summer camp is filled with fun and adventure, making use of the beautiful Ramsey Lake.

• Participants will be taught fundamental sprint canoe and kayak skills, such as balance and boat control, steering and paddle technique.

• Participants will spend time learning to care for equipment, and practicing skills in a variety of different types of paddle sport vessels.

• Primary focuses of this camp will be learning the basic skills and fundamental movements in a safe, fun and dynamic environment.

• Camp day will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. A typical day will be split into four 90-minute blocks with on water and dryland activities (games,sports, crafts, etc).

• No prior canoeing or kayaking experience required. Participants should be confident swimmers.

• The Sudbury Canoe Club will provide paddle equipment, boats and personal flotation devices (PFD).

• Campers have to check in no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of the camp and are required to be picked up from the canoe club promptly by 4 p.m.

Dates: From July 2 to August 30. Weekly camps or full summer camp available.

Ages: 10-15 as of January 1st, 2024

Cost: $ 275/week ($ 225 for 4 day weeks); $1700 for full Summer

Refund Policy: There is no refund available once the camp has started. If cancellation is done at least 2 weeks before the start of the camp, then a refund will be issued less a $50 administration fee. If cancellation is done within 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp, a refund will be issued less 50% of the camp fee. Cancellation the Friday before the camp starts will not qualify for a refund.
