All Abilities
All Abilities (previously known as Special O) is a program for people with intellectual disabilities. Participants paddle various water crafts such as recreational canoes and kayaks, and sprint race kayaks. All-Abilities provides a safe and inclusive environment where each participant can build skills and confidence on the water at their own pace. The focus is on having fun and being safe! The program includes a safety orientation and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler spends time on the water with a paddling partner for 3:1 support. This program is ideal for ages 10 and older, but younger children may be accepted at the discretion of the All-Abilities Coach.
Participants may also have the chance to race and participate in regattas, competing against other All-Abilities athletes if they wish. Please refer to the calendar on our website for regatta dates.
2024 Practice Dates:
July 3th - August 21th, 2025
Practice schedule:
Tuesday 6:00pm-7:00pm (7 sessions)
Thursday 6:00pm-7:00pm (8 sessions)
Cost:
Tuesday sessions- $87.50
Thursday sessions- $100
Both evenings- $175
All equipment is supplied.
Program Requirements:
All athletes are required to wear a PFD when on the water.
Refund policy:For programs that occur weekly, cancellation can occur within the first 2 weeks with a full refund minus the $50 administration fee.
For programs that are 8 weeks or less: Cancellation requests that are done following the first 2 weeks will not be refunded.
For programs that run greater than 8 weeks: Cancellation request after the first 2 weeks of the start of the program, cancellation will result in prorated monthly refund less $75 administration fee.
